We live in an internet era, and ordering everything from shoes to paper towels online is part of every day life. Many couples begin their search for wedding invitations online as well. There are certainly many options to choose from and the convenience of ordering right from your living room is appealing. While online shopping is great for many things, shouldn’t something as important as choosing your wedding invitation be experienced in person? You wouldn’t order your wedding dress or tuxedo online and expect it to be perfect on your wedding day. Weeks are spent trying on options and going in for fittings and alterations to make certain that everything is perfect for the big day. That’s how we feel about invitations. You need to try a few on for size before you decide what you want, then we customize and tweak your design to make it completely custom, just the way you envision it.
BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP
The first, and most important, part of the process is building a relationship with couples, their families, and friends. We like to set up an initial meeting to get to know each other. Because our invitations are completely custom, it’s important that we get a feel for the couple’s personalities, where they are at in the planning process, what themes and ideas they have in mind for the wedding… we take all of that and more into consideration when beginning the design process. We want it to be fun and relaxed. Weddings can be stressful. We try to take some of that stress away and help you enjoy the process of planning your day.
The next step is coming up with the design. We have samples and templates to help you get some ideas. You might know exactly what you want, and we will make that happen. Maybe you have no idea what you want and need help sorting it out, that’s what we’re here for! We get an idea of colors and themes you are thinking of for your wedding, get a feel for how formal or casual the event may be, what special circumstances you might have, and importantly, what your budget is for your invitations.
One of the drawbacks of ordering invitations online is not knowing what the stock (paper) options really look like. You can order samples, but these typically will have a cost associated with them and take time to receive. We have our standard stock samples available to show you right away. If we discuss a stock that we do not have on hand, we incur the expense of getting a sample so you know exactly what to expect.
Another benefit we have is showing full, printed proofs of your invitation suite for final approval. You will be able to see your invitation, printed on your stock, and assembled so you can handle your final product before moving on to printing. There are no additional fees for your proof. For us, it’s an important step in the process. Also, if you find that something isn’t quite right and you want to make a change, that is included and will not have additional charges. We want your invitations to be perfect and make sure to take every step necessary to achieve that goal.

We are not contracted with invitation companies to sell out of their catalogs. Our creations are our own, based on your vision for your wedding. We start from scratch with every couple to build a design theme that is all their own. You can rest assured that your invitations won’t look like anyone else’s.
